Doom ha sido portado a todo, desde tostadores hasta refrigeradores, aparentemente empujando los límites de lo que es posible. Sin embargo, un estudiante de secundaria ha logrado lo aparentemente imposible: ejecutar Doom dentro de un archivo PDF visible en un navegador.

Al carecer de sonido y texto (detalles menores, ¿verdad?), Le permite reproducir E1M1 mientras posterga esos impuestos.

El usuario de GitHub ADING2210, inspirado en el proyecto TETRISPDF, aprovechó JavaScript dentro del lector de PDF de un navegador para lograr esta hazaña. Las limitaciones de seguridad del navegador restringen todo el potencial de las secuencias de comandos PDF, pero fue suficiente para un puerto de fatalidad.

Usando una cuadrícula ASCII de seis colores para imágenes, ADING2210 creó una versión sorprendentemente jugable, aunque lenta (80 ms por cuadro), de Doom. El resultado es notablemente legible considerando las limitaciones.

Aunque no reemplazará su PS5, el logro de ejecutar Doom dentro de un archivo PDF es impresionante. El creador de Tetrispdf, Thomas Rinsma, incluso elogió la implementación de "más finas" de Ading2210 en Hacker News.

Si bien no es ideal para una experiencia de fatalidad por primera vez, el transporte continuo de la fatalidad a plataformas, archivos e incluso bacterias inusuales sigue siendo interminablemente entretenida.
