Enjoy scanwords and crosswords created by the author.

Our second Sloword app is now available. You can access it directly from the main screen when loading Scanword (just tap the image) or via Settings > Other Applications. Try this modern twist on classic crosswords for a fresh challenge.

Scanwords in Russian are truly a unique global phenomenon. No other language offers so many literary questions, humor-filled clues, and themes reflecting current world events—all within ordinary crosswords, which might seem unusual. The Russian people cherish words. They value their language, honor their expressions, and treat words as something precious.

The app features a variety of scanwords—some simpler, some more challenging, some with photos, and others with classic or associative clues like "one word" or "two words," similar to Elder Fur's hints. Each issue includes one English-Russian scanword and one "holey" puzzle—you'll quickly see why it's named that. Every page introduces a character from our cheerful family. Come join the fun!

All scanwords arefree for readers. This is an annual collection with 52–53 issues, each containing 20 scanwords. A full year's worth of puzzles will use about 50 MB of phone storage—images are small, and text is lightweight. We respect your device's space.

An internet connection is not required to solve puzzles once the scanwords are downloaded. New issues are released every Friday. If you keep notifications enabled, you'll receive a weekly reminder at 12:00 local time each Friday. The app automatically downloads new issues upon opening, and successful downloads won't repeat. You can also manually download or delete individual magazines, or use Settings to download all issues at once.

Core features, including access to all scanwords, are free for readers. Advertising supports this experience. Each page displays one narrow banner, plus one interstitial ad before opening a scanword. Ads never interrupt your solving flow. Additionally, advertisers generously reward readers with free hints for watching their videos.

Any reader may choose to suppress ads by: a) disabling advertising permanently, b) subscribing to remove ads and gain unlimited hints, or c) purchasing hints in bulk. These options are available in the in-app Shop.

Privacy Policy:

1) We use the standard Android advertising identifier only for ad placement and performance analysis. This identifier is linked to personally identifiable information or persistent device identifiers such as SSAID, MAC address, or IMEI only with your explicit consent.
