Forspoken Giveaway Fails to Impress PS Plus Subscribers

Forspoken, a year post-release, continues to spark heated discussions among players, even with its PS Plus free-to-play availability. The game's inclusion in the December 2024 PS Plus Extra and Premium lineup generated surprisingly positive initial responses, with many expressing anticipation for both Forspoken and Sonic Frontiers.

However, this enthusiasm hasn't been universally shared. Many free players abandoned Forspoken after a short time, criticizing the "ridiculous dialogue" and weak storyline. While some appreciated the combat, parkour, and exploration aspects, the general consensus points to the narrative and dialogue as significant detractors, rendering the experience unpleasant for those who engage with them.

It seems unlikely that PS Plus will significantly revitalize Forspoken's reception; the game's inconsistent quality remains a major hurdle. The action RPG follows Frey, a New Yorker transported to the breathtaking yet perilous land of Athia. Armed with newfound magical abilities, Frey must navigate this expansive world, battling monstrous creatures and powerful matriarchs known as the Tants, all in a desperate bid to return home.
