PlayStation and Sucker Punch Productions have set the stage for the much-anticipated sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, titled Ghost of Yōtei. On April 23, a captivating new trailer, "The Onryō’s List", was released, offering a glimpse into the game's story and gameplay. Mark your calendars for October 2, 2025, as that's when Ghost of Yōtei will launch.

The game follows the gripping tale of Atsu, set in the heart of Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido), as she seeks vengeance against the notorious Yōtei Six, the group responsible for her family's demise. Her quest involves tracking down and confronting each member: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito.

Ghost of Yōtei is a standalone sequel, occurring 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. The developers have shared details about new weapons, mechanics, and other enhancements that build on the original's success.

Hunt Down The Yōtei Six Your Way

In Ghost of Yōtei, players have the freedom to pursue the Yōtei Six in any order they choose, crafting their own unique path of revenge. Sucker Punch detailed these features in a PlayStation.blog post on April 23, shedding light on Atsu's journey and the game's open-world exploration.

The game offers an evolved exploration system, providing more freedom and variety than its predecessor. Beyond the main quest, players can engage in various activities in Ezo, such as tracking other dangerous targets, claiming bounties, and learning new skills from weapon sensei. Familiar elements from the previous game, like the beloved "Guiding Wind", return, while a new campfire mechanic allows players to set up camp anywhere in the open world. The developers emphasize the vast freedom players will have in exploring Ezo, promising more details in the coming months.
