Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Release Date Officially Confirmed
May 06,2025Author: Mila
As expected, the release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was officially confirmed during Sony's State of Play 2025 broadcast, accompanied by an exciting new trailer. The game is set to launch on August 28, 2025. This date was initially leaked last week through the PlayStation Store, which also made the trailer available ahead of the official announcement.
During the event, an intriguing collaboration with Ape Escape was teased, hinting at a nod to the original Metal Gear Solid 3. This collaboration seems to reference the game's memorable monkey minigame, where Snake used stun grenades and his 'Monkey Shaker' gun to neutralize the animals. Additionally, a cryptic message stating "And More" suggests that fans can anticipate further crossovers in the future.
While Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater introduces a new first-person perspective, it remains a faithful recreation of the original game. IGN's preview described it as "a very shiny HD remaster rather than the elegant remake it could have been," praising its beauty but noting its near-exact replication of the original. "It's an admittedly beautiful nostalgia trip, but almost faithful to a fault," the review concluded.
