"New 'Alien: Earth' Trailer Unveils Xenomorph Design, Nods to Ridley Scott's 1979 Classic"

A new trailer for the upcoming TV series Alien: Earth has emerged online, giving fans an exciting glimpse into the highly anticipated show. The trailer, which was first showcased at Disney's 2025 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, was shared on the @CineGeekNews X/Twitter account. It offers a thrilling look at the desperate survivors of a space ship that has been devastated by a Xenomorph and is now on a collision course with Earth.

The trailer not only showcases the new Xenomorph design but also highlights how closely Alien: Earth aligns aesthetically with Ridley Scott's iconic 1979 horror film. The setting inside a MU/TH/UR control room is strikingly similar to the one seen in the Nostromo, where Ripley famously uncovered the dire circumstances of her crew.

In the trailer, a crew member desperately pleads for help as she is trapped behind a sealed door while the Xenomorph begins its attack. Meanwhile, Morrow, portrayed by Babou Ceesay, coldly reports that the "specimens are loose," declares the crew dead, and sets the ship's impact point as Earth. The trailer then shifts to show six soldiers approaching the scene, likely the crashed ship, hinting at a grim fate awaiting them.

The trailer raises numerous intriguing questions: Will Morrow survive? What drives him? Are there any other survivors, and has anyone been impregnated by the Xenomorph? How will the soldiers meet their inevitable end?

Alien: Earth sets up its premise with the crash-landing of a mysterious space vessel on Earth. A young woman, played by Sydney Chandler, and a group of tactical soldiers make a "fateful discovery" that leads them directly to Earth's greatest threat.

*FX’s Alien series* is set in 2120, positioned after *Prometheus* and just two years before the events of *Alien* involving the Nostromo. This timeline has led fans to speculate that *Alien: Earth* might show the Nostromo's departure from Earth or reveal how the evil corporation Weyland-Yutani discovered the Xenomorphs. As a point of reference, the recently released *Alien: Romulus* takes place between *Alien* and *Aliens*.

Last year, in January, showrunner Noah Hawley explained his decision to move away from the backstory provided in Prometheus for Alien: Earth. Hawley, who prefers the "retro-futurism" of the original films, discussed many elements of the Alien series with Ridley Scott, including its connections to the prequels. Ultimately, he chose to focus on the lore of the original films, steering clear of the bioweapon backstory.

FX's Alien: Earth is slated to premiere on Hulu in the summer of 2025. Additionally, Alien: Romulus 2 is currently in development, promising more thrilling adventures in the Alien universe.
