Ubisoft Mainz has unveiled exciting new details about Anno 1800: Pax Romana in a recently released trailer. While previous announcements highlighted exploration of Lazio and Albion, the trailer suggests Lazio serves as a tutorial-like introduction before players move to the main game setting in Albion.
Creative Director Manuel Rainer explains that Lazio starts as a peaceful region, but a catastrophic event forces players to seek a new home. This leads them to Britain (Albion), a land notorious for its harsh climate, rebellious tribes, and geographical distance from Rome, posing significant challenges to governance.
Players take on the role of a governor, tasked with overcoming these obstacles through diplomacy and strategic management, rather than solely relying on military force. Respecting local customs and traditions is key to establishing harmony. A unique feature allows players to customize their ships, choosing between speed enhancements through oarsmen or increased firepower with archery turrets.
Anno 1800: Pax Romana is scheduled for release in 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
