The thrilling sequel to the roguelike dungeon crawler, Hades II, has launched its second significant patch, The Warsong Update. This update propels protagonist Melinoë into the "Final Confrontation" beyond the Guardian of Olympus and introduces the bloodthirsty god of war, Ares, whose Boons are sure to add a thrilling edge to your gameplay.

In addition to welcoming Ares, The Warsong Update brings a new animal familiar, fresh foes to battle, an enhanced Altar of Ashes with new art and Arcana effects, over 2,000 new voice lines, and new events to encounter. Players can also take a break from the relentless dungeon crawling to unwind in the Crossroads, enjoy brand-new soundtracks, or even sing a melodic duet with Artemis.

Planning Ahead For The Third Major Update

Fresh off the heels of The Warsong Update, developer Supergiant Games is already laying the groundwork for the third major update, which they plan to unveil "some months from now," as mentioned in their Steam news post. Hades II will remain in Early Access for now, with Supergiant Games noting, "it’s still too early to share our plans beyond that, including when our v1.0 launch will be." However, the full release might come sooner rather than later, as the core structure of both the Underworld and the Surface routes are now essentially complete, and the focus is shifting towards enriching the existing content.

Following the release of all post-launch patches for The Warsong Update, Supergiant Games will concentrate on the following initiatives:

• Hidden Aspects: The Nocturnal Arms still hold undiscovered secrets that players will eventually be able to unlock and wield.
• Enhanced Guardians: Boss battles, a cornerstone of the Hades II experience, will be refined to provide even more challenging and surprising encounters.
• Expanded Story: The remainder of Melinoë’s journey is being meticulously planned, with a focus on deepening inter-character relationships and subplots.
