Assassin’s Creed Shadows Delayed to March 20, 2025
Ubisoft has announced another delay for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, pushing its release date to March 20th, 2025. This decision follows the game's previous postponement from its initial 2024 target to February 14th, 2025.
A Focus on Player Feedback
Ubisoft's statement, shared on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, emphasizes the importance of incorporating player feedback to deliver a "high-quality, immersive experience." The company acknowledges the valuable input received and believes the extra time is crucial to fully integrate this feedback and create a more engaging launch experience.

In a press release, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot reinforced this commitment, stating that the team is dedicated to creating the most ambitious Assassin’s Creed title yet. The extra development month will allow for better integration of player feedback, maximizing the game's potential and ensuring a strong finish to the year.
The press release also revealed that Ubisoft is undertaking a restructuring initiative, appointing advisors to explore strategic and capitalistic options to enhance stakeholder value. This follows disappointing performance from several 2024 releases, including Star Wars Outlaws and XDefiant.
While Ubisoft's announcement focuses on player feedback, speculation among fans suggests the delay might also be a strategic response to the crowded February release schedule. High-profile titles like Kingdom Come: Deliverance II (February 4th), Civilization VII (February 11th), Avowed (February 18th), and Monster Hunter Wilds (February 28th) could have influenced the decision to shift the release date and potentially garner more attention for Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
