《刺客信条：暗影》原定于2024年11月发行，后推迟至2025年2月14日，如今又再次延期五周。
第一次延期公告于2024年9月下旬发布，将游戏的发售日期从最初的11月15日推迟到2025年2月14日。当时，育碧官方声明称，为游戏利益着想，才做出这一决定。
与第一次延期不同，第一次延期是由于育碧魁北克工作室对游戏文化和历史准确性的担忧所致。而此次延期是为了整合玩家反馈。育碧官方网站上，《刺客信条》系列副总裁兼执行制作人Marc-Alexis Coté表示，育碧致力于提供高质量、沉浸式的游戏体验，这离不开玩家与开发团队之间的持续沟通。然而，两次延期都有一点共同之处，Coté表示，新延期与上次一样，将为开发团队提供更多时间来完善和打磨游戏。
《刺客信条：暗影》最终发售日期：
9月份游戏延期公告发布时，育碧为安抚玩家情绪，为已预购《刺客信条：暗影》的玩家提供退款服务，并宣布所有未来的预购玩家将免费获得游戏首个资料片。目前尚不清楚此次延期是否会有类似的补偿措施，不过五周的延期相比三个月的延期，预计会引起较少的玩家不满。
此次额外延期可能也与育碧内部自行开展的调查有关，该调查在三个多月前启动。尽管育碧仍然是游戏行业收入最高的厂商之一，但最近令人失望的销售数据导致该公司在2023财年出现创纪录的亏损。在此消息之后，育碧启动了这项调查，其主要目标之一是使游戏更以玩家为中心。将《刺客信条：暗影》延期一个月以整合玩家反馈，可能是这项计划的一部分。
