Koei Tecmo has announced the end-of-service for Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator, just one year after its global launch. All services will cease on March 28th, with in-app purchases ending earlier on January 27th. Until then, several in-game events are planned.
This closure follows the developers' admission that they couldn't maintain the quality standards they initially set. Despite ongoing efforts to improve the game and add events, they concluded that continued operation wasn't feasible. Players can still spend their existing Lodestar Gems, but purchasing more is no longer possible.
For many players, this news may not be entirely unexpected. The highly competitive gacha market makes it difficult for new titles to gain traction. While Atelier Resleriana had potential, it faced challenges in several key areas.

Criticism frequently targeted the gacha and banner rates, hindering player progression. The alchemy system, a hallmark of the Atelier series, failed to deliver the expected creative depth. While the gameplay was functional, it lacked the engagement needed to compete effectively within the genre.
Atelier Resleriana's struggles were evident from its launch. While many players on Twitter and Reddit are requesting an offline version, this seems unlikely. If you've enjoyed the game, make the most of the remaining months.
