Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios have officially announced a new Avatar animated series: Avatar: Seven Havens. This exciting news coincides with the franchise's 20th anniversary celebration.
Created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the original series creators, Avatar: Seven Havens will be a 26-episode, 2D animated series. The story centers on a young Earthbender, the next Avatar after Korra, who finds herself in a world ravaged by a catastrophic event. In this perilous era, her title is viewed as a harbinger of destruction rather than salvation. Hunted by both human and spirit foes, she and her long-lost twin must unravel their mysterious past to safeguard the Seven Havens before civilization crumbles.
DiMartino and Konietzko shared their excitement, stating that the creation of the original series never anticipated the continued expansion of the Avatar world decades later. This new chapter promises a blend of fantasy, intrigue, and a fresh roster of captivating characters.
The series will be structured as two 13-episode seasons (Book 1 and Book 2). Executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi join DiMartino and Konietzko in bringing this new saga to life. Casting details are yet to be revealed.
This marks the first major television series from Avatar Studios, who are also developing a feature-length animated film focusing on an adult Aang. This theatrical release is slated for January 30, 2026, and will chronicle Aang's latest adventure.
The 20th-anniversary celebration extends beyond Seven Havens, encompassing a range of new merchandise, including books, comics, concerts, toys, and even a Roblox game.
