Avowed: All Playable Races Revealed

*Avowed* builds upon the rich fantasy world of Eora introduced in the *Pillars of Eternity* series, bringing its diverse races into a new adventure. While the variety among the Kith races is vast, your choices in the character creator are somewhat limited. Here's a comprehensive look at the playable races in *Avowed*.

Humans (Known In-Universe as Folk)

Humans, referred to as Folk within *Avowed*, are the most common race you'll encounter and select from in the character creator. As part of the Kith group, which encompasses various sentient, civilized species, humans stand out for their prevalence in the game's world.

In *Avowed*, human customization is robust, catering to a wide array of player preferences. You'll find numerous presets alongside detailed customization tools. From a variety of facial presets and a skin tone slider to diverse hair textures, the character creator offers ample options to help you craft a character that resonates with you.

Elves

Elves are another race available for selection in *Avowed*. They resemble humans closely but are distinguished by their unique facial structures and iconic long, pointed ears.

Godlikes

A third race option in *Avowed* is the Godlikes. Although all Envoys in the story are Godlike, players have the choice to display these distinctive features or not. Godlikes offer unique hair and facial customization, ranging from subtle to surreal. At the launch of *Avowed*, you can choose from 14 different Godlike facial features and 4 distinct hair options, which are universally applicable across all character races and body types.

What Gender Options are Available in the Avowed Character Creator?

In *Avowed*, the character creator provides four Body Types for selection: two masculine and two feminine, available for both Humans and Elves. Additionally, you can choose from two feminine and two masculine voices. Players can also select their character's identifier, which determines the pronouns used for them—he, she, or they—offering flexibility in gender representation.

Several Races Present in Avowed Are Not Playable

Unfortunately, not all Kith races present in *Avowed* are available for player customization. While you'll encounter Dwarves, semiaquatic Aumaua, and the half-sized, hairy Orlans among the NPCs in the Living Lands, these races are not selectable in the character creator. However, there's always a chance that Obsidian Entertainment might introduce additional race options through future updates or DLCs for *Avowed*.
