BrownDust2 Drops a New Update Onsen Training Featuring a New Story

Neowiz and Gamfs N have unleashed the first content update for BrownDust2 since its December 1.5-year anniversary celebration. Dubbed "Onsen Training," this update brings a fiery new adventure to the game.

This Japanese winter hot spring setting features sword-fighting battles and characteristic BrownDust2 challenges, with a dash of mischievous monkey business thrown in for good measure. It's a fun and unpredictable experience.

BrownDust2's Onsen Training: A Deep Dive

The update introduces three new characters: Ventana (the story's protagonist and available via the pickup draw), Liberta (also available via the pickup draw), and Blade (exclusive to the narrative).

The Onsen Training event story unfolds within the same universe as Character Pack 1: Jayden's Gate, and comprises 30 battles—15 normal and 15 challenge modes.

Ventana, the Kendo Club captain, seeks to regain her honor after a defeat. Her hot spring training for enhanced strength is disrupted by playful Snowy Mountain Monkeys. Rescued by the legendary Blade, who initially refuses her training request, Ventana enlists the help of Liberta, the hot spring manager, to secure Blade's tutelage.

A New Mini-Game Joins the Fray

"Onsen Tile Tactics," a time-limited tile-clearing mini-game, adds another layer to the event. The story unfolds in phases: "Legendary Graduate" (week one), culminating in "Beyond Legend" (week three).

Players will face returning and new bosses. Giant Rou returns in week one, while week three introduces the formidable Snowy Mountain Tyrant, a powerful monkey whose strength increases when targeting enemies with DoT effects. Rucersingha, the Ruler of the Void, makes its debut as a Guild Raid boss, unleashing devastating attacks and requiring substantial chain stacks to defeat.

New gear and costumes are also up for grabs. The Onsen Practitioner Ventana costume is available until January 30th, followed by the Onsen Manager Liberta costume, available until February 13th.
