Microsoft has recently announced a price increase for Xbox consoles, controllers, and upcoming games. The new pricing for hardware is effective immediately, whereas the price for new first-party games will increase to $79.99 starting this holiday season. If you're considering purchasing an Xbox Series X|S or a new controller, it's advisable to act quickly to take advantage of the current prices. The updated prices are already reflected on Xbox's official store, but you might still find the original prices at select retailers for the time being.

New Price: $549 (Save now)
The Xbox Series X is Microsoft's flagship console, boasting the power to run games at stunning 4K resolution. As an avid gamer, I find the Series X to be even more impressive than my PS5, especially because it supports physical game discs. However, if you're comfortable with a fully digital library, opting for the digital edition can save you $50.

Xbox Series S 1TB
Current Price: $349
New Price: $429 (Save now)
The Xbox Series S is perfect for gamers who are ready to embrace an all-digital future. It's less powerful than the Series X, designed to run games at 1440p resolution rather than 4K. If that suits your needs, the Series S is a fantastic choice, available in both 512GB and 1TB models. Given the large file sizes of modern games and the cost of additional storage, I recommend opting for the 1TB version.

Microsoft is also adjusting the prices of some Xbox controllers, although not all models will see an increase. The pricing on controllers has been more dynamic than that of the consoles, so the price changes might be less noticeable. Here are the new prices for Xbox controllers:
By acting quickly, you can secure these popular Xbox products at their current, lower prices before the impending price hikes take effect.
