Sony Pictures has thrilling news for fans of the gripping anime series Chainsaw Man—the eagerly awaited film, Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, is set to slice its way into US theaters on October 29, 2025. This announcement came during Sony's CinemaCon presentation, where they revealed securing worldwide theatrical rights (excluding Japan) for the adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s popular manga. While US fans can mark their calendars for late October, audiences in over 80 countries will get to experience the film earlier on September 24, 2025. Toho will handle the movie's release in Japan, starting September 19, 2025.
The announcement of the Chainsaw Man movie in December 2023 sparked excitement as a direct sequel to the MAPPA-produced anime that debuted in 2022. The story follows Denji, a young protagonist who gains a second chance at life by merging with the Chainsaw Devil, Pochita. This fusion grants Denji the extraordinary ability to transform parts of his body into chainsaws, propelling him into a world far beyond his previous existence as a mere "Chainsaw Man."
Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc will introduce the pivotal character Reze, known from the original manga. Directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara and penned by Hiroshi Seko, the film sees the return of the entire voice cast from the anime, ensuring continuity and familiarity for fans.
