TouchArcade Game Review: A Marvel Minute

It's been suggested I should give more attention to Marvel games beyond Marvel Snap. While I frequently cover Marvel Snap's updates, other titles often end up in my Monday "Best Updates" articles. This is a valid criticism! Therefore, let's dedicate a "Marvel Minute" to explore what's happening in other Marvel mobile games. Both Marvel Future Fight and Marvel Contest of Champions currently offer exciting events. Let's dive in!

First, Marvel Future Fight is celebrating Iron Man! This event, inspired by Invincible Iron Man, introduces new outfits for Tony Stark and Pepper Potts. Here are the highlights from the update notes:

New Uniforms: Iron Man and Rescue receive updated costumes. Tier-4 Advancement: War Machine and Hulkbuster get power upgrades. New World Boss: The Black Order's Corvus and Proxima return as a Legend+ boss. New Custom Gear: The "C.T.P. of Liberation" is added. Crystal Event: Link your email for 200 crystals!

Now, let's shift to Marvel Contest of Champions. New events usually introduce playable characters, and this game boasts an incredibly diverse roster. The inclusion of less-common characters is a treat for long-time Marvel fans. The update notes detail:

New Champions: Count Nefaria and Shathra join the fight! Nefaria, a Maggia crime boss with ionic energy powers, and Shathra, daughter of Oshtur and Gaea, from Loomworld. New Quests and Events:

  • "Lupus In Fabula" Event Quest: A mission to evict villains from The Collector's ship.
  • "Ludum Maximus" Side Quest: Games and challenges hosted by Count Nefaria with randomized paths and foes.
  • Act 9; Chapter 1: "The Reckoning": The aftermath of Glykhan's self-destruction and the continued schemes of Ouroboros.
  • "Glorious Games" Saga: A four-month celebration with themed events and champion reworks.
  • Realm Events: Global collaborative events with milestone and ranked rewards.

In short, both games offer compelling updates. Whether you're a returning player or new to these titles, this is a great time to jump in. I'm definitely checking out Count Nefaria – his nefariousness is undeniable! Enjoy!
