Netflix has released a teaser trailer that teases us with the visually stunning and conceptually bizarre elements that Love, Death + Robots is known for. Here are some of the intriguing snippets we caught in just one minute of footage:
- An epic space battle or disaster
- A puppet rock band
- An adult toy brought to life with giant eyes in claymation
- A priest strolling alongside a tentacled alien on a beach
- A tormented woman, possibly bionic, accompanied by an adorable fuzzball
- Ominous, oversized babies
- Dinosaurs battling other dinosaurs
- An alien invasion depicted through miniatures
- A disgusted voyeuristic cat
The series is executive produced by Tim Miller, known for directing Deadpool, and David Fincher, acclaimed for Seven and The Social Network. Jennifer Yuh Nelson, who contributed to Kung Fu Panda 2 and Shrek Forever After, returns as the supervising director.
"If the legacy of Love, Death + Robots is that there are a handful, fifteen people, ten years from now who became directors or became animators or became motion capture performers or doing voice work because they were such big Love, Death + Robots fans, that's all I care about right now," Fincher shared with Collider in a 2022 interview.
"This show was never going to pay for your Gulf Stream. You're either here because you want to be here or you're not here. We're hoping desperately to get to waste more of our lives toiling in obscurity."
