In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, it's easy to miss certain side tasks, and failing them can be frustrating because you can't return to them. One such side task is finding Rosa's book, which is crucial for those looking to explore additional storylines, including the potential romance with Rosa. Let's guide you through unlocking and completing "Rosa's Book" side quest.

Unlocking the Rosa's Book Side Quest

To unlock this side quest, you first need to complete "Via Argentum" and start "Taking French Leave." After assisting the Ruthard family in dealing with Vavak, either through force or persuasion, you'll be directed to speak with Rosa. She'll share information about a secret passage into Maleshov, which you can use to rescue Hans. During your conversation, Rosa will request that you retrieve a book for her while you're in Maleshov. Make sure to ask her about the specifics of the book and commit to bringing it back to her, which will officially start "Rosa's Book."

It's important to note that you can only complete this quest during "Taking French Leave." If you leave Maleshov with Hans without finding the book, the quest will fail, and you'll miss the chance to romance Rosa if that's your goal. Fortunately, the book is located on your route to Hans' room.

When you enter Maleshov, Hans is housed in the largest tower, at the very top. Use the stairs on the side of the building to reach the entrance. Once inside, you'll find another set of stairs and a small kitchen nearby. Hide in the kitchen until the guards upstairs finish their conversation and leave the tower.

Next, stealthily ascend the stairs to a room where you'll encounter Lady Ofka, who is facing the fireplace. You can sneak up behind her and knock her out. Take the keys from her body, the keys from the podium, and the sword from the chest in her room. In this same room, to the right of the fireplace, you'll see a red book in the window alcove. This is Rosa's book. Pick it up, and your objective will update to return the book to Rosa.

While in the area, it's efficient to also grab another sword from the chest in the adjacent room. This will save time later as you'll need two weapons for Hans and his unexpected guest. After securing the items, proceed to the top level and unlock the door on the left to trigger a cutscene.

Following the cutscene, you'll continue with "Taking French Leave." Although Hans is reluctant to use the passageway, you can advance your romantic prospects with him by selecting the dialogue option marked with a heart, provided you also chose the heart option during your time in Trosky. Then, navigate to the stables on the north side of Maleshov, stealthily knocking out and hiding any guards that obstruct your path. Once you've cleared a safe route, signal Hans and ensure he reaches the stables without issues.

Open the gate to initiate another cutscene, which concludes the quest. After the scene plays out, head back to Kuttenberg City and stop by Ruthard Palace to deliver Rosa's book, completing the "Rosa's Book" side quest in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.
