This guide details how to obtain and utilize Old Coins in Dynasty Warriors: Origins. These coins, while seemingly insignificant early on, unlock valuable rewards later in the game.
Using Old Coins
Old Coins become useful after completing three key main story battles in Chapter 2:
- Suppression of You Province
- Suppression of Jing Province
- Suppression of Liang Province
Completing these battles unlocks the Shui Jing Retreat near Ji City. Here, you can exchange Old Coins with Sima Hui for various rewards. These rewards are milestone-based, so exchange your coins whenever you pass a threshold.

- Overworld Exploration: Old Coins are scattered throughout the overworld. Their icon is small and only visible up close.
- Bond Interactions: Interact with companions and officers to receive Old Coins.
- Inn Letters: Check the Inn for letters containing Old Coins after story events.
- Regional Peace Rewards: Collect rewards at Waypoints.
Focus on progressing through the main story and exploring; Old Coins will accumulate organically. Their rewards offer significant benefits, but don't let the pursuit of them detract from enjoying the core gameplay.
