Dynasty Warriors: Origins – A Fresh Start for a Long-Running Franchise
Seven years after the last mainline entry, Dynasty Warriors: Origins arrives as a reboot, aiming to attract new players while satisfying veterans. This reboot raises many questions, answered here, including details on multiplayer capabilities.
Unfortunately, Dynasty Warriors: Origins does not include any multiplayer options, a significant departure for some series fans.
Unlike previous entries, Origins features a fixed protagonist. Players cannot switch characters during the main campaign.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins acts as a reboot, presenting familiar battles and events through the perspective of a new, unnamed hero. Prior game knowledge isn't required, making it an ideal entry point for newcomers.
While battles occur in expansive areas, these aren't interconnected. Players navigate between locations using an overworld map.
Contrary to initial speculation, Dynasty Warriors: Origins will not launch on PS4, Xbox One, or Switch. It's confirmed for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins releases at midnight (local time) on January 17th.
Digital Deluxe Edition purchasers gain up to 72 hours of early access, starting at midnight (local time) on January 14th.
Console preloads are available. The game requires approximately 43 GB (PS5) or 44 GB (Xbox Series X|S) of storage. PC players should allocate at least 50 GB on their hard drives.
