Elden Ring Nightreign's First Network Test: A PS5 and Xbox Series X/S Exclusive

Registration for the initial Elden Ring Nightreign network test opens January 10th, 2025, but with a significant limitation: it's exclusive to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. This means less than half of the game's target platforms (PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC) will be included in this initial beta.

Announced at The Game Awards 2024, Elden Ring Nightreign is a cooperative Soulsborne experience set in The Lands Between, designed for three-player parties. The game is slated for release in 2025. This network test, a standard procedure for multiplayer titles, will help FromSoftware and Bandai Namco iron out any kinks before launch.

How to Register:

  1. Visit the official Elden Ring Nightreign network test website starting January 10th, 2025.
  2. Register, specifying your preferred platform (PS5 or Xbox Series X/S).
  3. Await a confirmation email.
  4. Participate in the test sometime in February 2025 (exact dates to be announced).

Key Limitations:

  • Platform Exclusivity: Only PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players can participate.
  • No Cross-Platform Play: The test, mirroring the final game, will not support cross-platform multiplayer.
  • No Progress Carryover: It's highly unlikely that any progress made during the beta will transfer to the full game.
  • Party Size Restrictions: The game, and likely the beta, will only support solo play or three-player parties. Duo play is not supported.

While the number of available test slots remains undisclosed, confirmation emails for accepted participants are expected by February 2025. Further beta tests may follow, though this hasn't been confirmed by FromSoftware. The specifics regarding additional gameplay restrictions during the beta are yet to be revealed.
