EOS Announcement for Romancing SaGa Re:universe from Square Enix

Romancing SaGa Re:universe Global Server Closure Announced

The global version of Romancing SaGa Re:universe will officially cease operations on December 2nd, 2024. While this may come as a surprise to some, the Japanese version will continue running.

Two Months Remain

With the shutdown date approaching, in-app purchases of jewels and Google Play Points exchanges have already been discontinued following the September 29th, 2024 maintenance. Players have approximately two months of gameplay remaining before the servers close.

A Four-Year Run

Launched globally in June 2020, the game enjoyed a four-year run marked by both success and challenges. Despite its impressive visuals, soundtrack, and generous gacha system, Romancing SaGa Re:universe received mixed reception. Unlike its popular Japanese counterpart, the global version faced criticism for lacking significant content updates, including the Solistia expansion and 6-star unit upgrades, available in Japan for nearly a year. This content disparity contributed to player attrition.

Square Enix's Recent Game Closures

This closure follows Square Enix's recent shutdowns of several other titles, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and two Dragon Quest mobile games.

A Final Opportunity

Romancing SaGa Re:universe is a turn-based RPG rooted in the classic SaGa series. Whether you're a veteran player or a curious newcomer, you have two months to experience this title before its global servers go offline. Download it now from the Google Play Store.
