Explore Spider-Woman's Origins in New Marvel Contest of Champions Update

Marvel Contest of Champions is set to bring a wave of thrilling updates and new content in April, highlighted by the introduction of the new champion, Spider-Woman. Alongside her, another intriguing character, Lumatrix, will join the fray, offering players a diverse range of combat styles and stories to explore.

Here’s the Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions

Spider-Woman, born as Jessica Drew, faced a life-altering event when she was exposed to uranium as a child. Her father, a brilliant geneticist, attempted to save her by injecting her with a concoction of spider DNA. After a long recovery, Jessica not only overcame the initial adverse effects but also emerged with extraordinary spider powers, eventually taking on the mantle of Spider-Woman. Players can add this new champion to their roster starting April 17th.

However, before Spider-Woman makes her debut, another champion, Lumatrix, will enter the arena on April 9th. Designed by the Founders as a formidable assassin, Lumatrix uses his dazzling light powers to infiltrate and eliminate targets with precision.

What Else Is New?

On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, titled "Inquisition," unfolds with Carina suffering severe injuries after an encounter with Ouroborus forces. Meanwhile, Doctor Doom collaborates with the Fantastic Four to combat the spreading corruption of Chronoserpent. A new villain, Lotan, also emerges, adding another layer of intrigue to the storyline.

A new Event Quest, "Spy Games," kicks off on April 9th and runs until May 7th. Black Widow delves into the mystery of the Eidols, enlisting the help of Spider-Woman to unravel the enigma.

Dark Phoenix returns in the Side Quest with "Dark Bounties," challenging players to hunt down champions targeted by her bounty and claim their rewards.

The "Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector" also makes a comeback, inviting players to assemble their most powerful Saga champions to battle for Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
