It's been 35 years since Intelligent Systems first introduced the Fire Emblem series on Nintendo's Famicom. With its ever-evolving combat mechanics and beloved character bonding features, the series has firmly established itself as a top-tier tactical RPG. This ascent has been brilliantly showcased in the two mainline entries released on the Nintendo Switch.
As the original Switch era winds down, we've put together a comprehensive list of every Fire Emblem game you can play on the console, as well as what's on the horizon for the Switch 2.
How Many Fire Emblem Games Are on Switch?
-----------------------------------------
There are five Fire Emblem games available on the Switch: two mainline entries and three spinoffs. Additionally, two Fire Emblem games can be accessed through Nintendo Switch Online, with a third slated for release on the Switch 2 in June.

Fire Emblem Warriors (2017)
Launched as the first Fire Emblem title on the Switch, Fire Emblem Warriors is a dynamic crossover with Dynasty Warriors. This game seamlessly merges Fire Emblem’s strategic team-based gameplay with the frenetic, action-packed style of Dynasty Warriors. It’s a must-play for action enthusiasts, although its lighter narrative might not fully satisfy lore aficionados.
The game was crafted by Omega Force, the studio behind Dynasty Warriors, in partnership with Team Ninja, renowned for titles like Ninja Gaiden and Nioh.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses marked a significant milestone for the franchise. It was the first home console release in over a decade, the inaugural mainline entry on the Switch, and a commercial and critical hit that continued the legacy of Awakening from seven years prior.
Three Houses is a sprawling tactical RPG that masterfully balances epic battles with intimate character interactions. The game unfolds against a backdrop of political and religious turmoil, while downtime in the monastery allows for training, teaching, and deepening relationships with other characters through well-crafted dialogues.
For those new to the series, Three Houses stands out as the quintessential starting point on the Switch.

In 2020, Nintendo released Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore, an enhanced version of the original Wii U game. This port includes additional story content, new characters, and more music. It blends Fire Emblem’s strategic “weapon triangle” combat with the stylish, dungeon-crawling gameplay of Atlus’s Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series.
The narrative takes a humorous, often exaggerated look at Japanese pop culture, prioritizing action over story depth, much like its predecessor, Warriors.

Nintendo collaborated once again with Omega Force to bring us Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, the second crossover with Dynasty Warriors. This game reimagines the story of Three Houses in an alternate timeline where the protagonist, Byleth, becomes the antagonist.
Three Hopes offers a richer integration of Fire Emblem’s social and tactical elements with the fast-paced action of Dynasty Warriors, making it a more comprehensive blend of the two franchises than its predecessor.

Fire Emblem Engage is the latest addition to the series and the second mainline entry on the Switch. It builds on the success of Three Houses while paying homage to the franchise's history. Engage refines the social and hub mechanics of its predecessor, focusing more on the tactical combat that has defined Fire Emblem, notably reintroducing the “weapon triangle” system.
The narrative follows Alear, a Divine Dragon, on a quest to gather 12 rings to defeat the Fell Dragon and save Elyos. These rings connect Engage to the series' past, allowing players to summon iconic heroes like Marth, Ike, Celica, and Byleth.
