The Empyrean series has taken the literary world by storm, with the latest release, *Onyx Storm*, propelling all three books to the top of Amazon's Kindle best sellers list for 2025. The series' surge in popularity began with the release of *Fourth Wing* in 2023, largely fueled by the viral sensation of Booktok. Since then, this captivating romantasy series has not only dominated the Kindle charts but has also become a staple on most best seller lists.
The release of *Onyx Storm* has attracted a wave of new readers, showcasing the infectious appeal of Rebecca Yarros' storytelling. Her unique blend of fantasy and romance has captivated a diverse audience, making the series a must-read. The excitement doesn't stop there; with a *Fourth Wing* TV series now greenlit at Amazon, the Empyrean series has the potential to eclipse even the Harry Potter franchise in popularity, provided it capitalizes on this momentum.
While the Empyrean series reigns supreme on Kindle, it also holds a strong position on Amazon's top-selling physical books list for 2025. Both the deluxe and standard editions of *Onyx Storm* are within the top 10, with *Fourth Wing* maintaining a spot in the top 25. The only book to momentarily dethrone *Onyx Storm* as the top fiction book is Suzanne Collins' new Hunger Games release. However, with more readers discovering the series through *Fourth Wing*, *Onyx Storm* could reclaim its position before the year ends.
