It's official: The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch on June 5, and excitement is building after a detailed Nintendo Direct that showcased new games and provided more information about the Switch 2 hardware. With the launch date approaching, preorders for essential accessories, such as microSD Express cards—the only storage cards compatible with the Switch 2—are now available.
GameStop is leading the charge with its own line of microSD Express cards, which you can preorder in various capacities. These cards are crucial for expanding your storage, especially since the Switch 2 comes with a base internal storage of 256GB, a significant upgrade from the original Switch's 32GB. If you're an avid gamer with a growing library, extra storage is a must-have.

These cards have been flying off the shelves, but GameStop's preorders are your chance to secure them ahead of the Switch 2's launch. They come in sizes ranging from 256GB ($49.99) to 512GB ($84.99) to 1TB ($149.99), all set to release on June 5 alongside the console. To stay informed about restocks and additional options, keep our microSD Express card hub page bookmarked.
If you're still on the fence about needing extra storage, consider that the Switch 2's 256GB of internal storage is a step up but may not be enough for everyone. With games getting larger and libraries expanding, having additional space can be a game-changer.
