- Acquire two statue heads from the Dark Aether Nexus.
- Place the statue heads on the ruined statues in the Dig Site.

The statue heads are located within the Dark Aether Nexus, inside destructible wooden boxes. Melee attack the boxes to reveal the heads. The first is near a palm tree in a corner of the Nexus, close to the green Gateway portal. The second is easily found near the Juggernog Perk Machine on the same raised platform.

Once you have both heads, return to the Dig Site. Place each head on a ruined Roman statue. One is near the Ammo Cache, the other near the Roman Mausoleum (Pack-a-Punch area). Interacting with the repaired statues initiates a Blood Sacrifice.

The Blood Sacrifice spawns multiple high-value target (HVT) versions of Shock Mimics and Doppelghasts (three in solo, more in co-op). You're locked at 1 HP, but damage affects your armor. Use a Tier 3 vest and ample armor plates. The existing enemies remain. Strategies include using a Mutant Injection to become a Mangler (solo) or utilizing a Chopper Gunner (co-op) to eliminate the HVTs.
After completing both Blood Sacrifices, the Gold Armor Vest becomes available for purchase at the Roman Mausoleum.
