Henry Cavill's Bond Audition Surfaces Online

Leaked 2005 James Bond audition tapes surface online, showcasing Henry Cavill's impressive performance before Daniel Craig secured the role.

Games Radar reports that a collection of audition tapes, featuring Cavill alongside Sam Worthington, Rupert Friend, and Anthony Starr, emerged on the Ron South YouTube channel. This channel, maintained by a filmmaker, boasts a modest 1,890 subscribers.

While all auditions are noteworthy, Cavill's has garnered significant attention. Many believe he would have been a superb James Bond, a sentiment echoed by Casino Royale director Martin Campbell, who described Cavill's audition as "tremendous." Campbell reportedly favored Cavill, but ultimately, other executives chose Craig.

Cavill later fulfilled his spy aspirations in Argylle, starring alongside a prestigious ensemble cast including Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, and Catherine O’Hara. Despite the star-studded lineup, the film received poor critical reception, scoring a mere 4/10 in IGN's review.
