One of the top budget gaming PC deals from Labor Day has returned. Walmart now offers the iBuypower Slate RTX 5070 gaming system for just $1,099 following an instant $400 discount. This unit is sold and shipped directly by Walmart rather than a third-party marketplace seller. The included RTX 5070 graphics card delivers excellent performance for gaming at both 1080p and 1440p resolutions.

The iBuypower Slate gaming desktop features an Intel Core i5-14400F processor, GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card, 16GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a spacious 1TB M.2 SSD. The Intel Core i5-14400F belongs to the 14th generation Raptor Lake Refresh lineup, offering a maximum turbo frequency of 4.7GHz across its 10 cores. Thermal management is handled by an efficient 120mm tower heatsink and fan combination.
When compared to previous-generation GPUs, the RTX 5070 edges out the RTX 4070 Super in raw performance. While I would have preferred a more significant generational leap in speed, the RTX 5070 remains a superior choice due to its support for DLSS 4 and inclusion of 12GB of faster GDDR7 VRAM alongside that modest performance bump. Additionally, you likely won't find an RTX 4070 Super gaming PC priced below $1,100 anymore. The RTX 5070 stands out as a popular GPU for 1080p and 1440p gamers. Stepping up to the next tier—the RTX 5070 Ti—comes with a significantly higher price tag and is better suited for enthusiasts seeking high frame rates at 1440p or 4K resolutions. For less demanding setups, it may be overkill.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Review by Jacqueline Thomas**
"The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 presents a complex value proposition. It fulfills its promise: delivering high frame rates at 1440p gaming. However, the challenge lies in whether it performs noticeably better than the RTX 4070 Super or other cards in this price bracket. Its standout feature is Multi Frame Generation, which adds significant value for users with high-refresh-rate monitors, though this alone might not justify an upgrade on its own."
