Finn Jones portrays Danny Rand/Iron Fist in Marvel's Netflix series

Charlie Cox's acclaimed portrayal of Daredevil has smoothly transitioned from Netflix to the MCU, sparking speculation about potential comebacks for other Defenders characters. Iron Fist actor Finn Jones recently expressed his enthusiasm to return, stating: "I'm here and I'm ready."

A Second Chance for the Living Weapon?

Jones last embodied Danny Rand seven years ago in Iron Fist's second season and The Defenders crossover series, which united martial arts master with fellow street-level heroes Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones.

While Jones' iteration of Iron Fist received mixed reception compared to other Defenders, Daredevil's successful MCU integration has reignited hopes for the character's return. Industry reports suggest Marvel Studios is actively exploring options for the Defenders' future within the MCU.

The Defenders' Growing MCU Presence

The upcoming Daredevil: Born Again directly continues the narrative from Netflix's Marvel universe, now officially recognized as MCU canon on Disney+. This continuity includes appearances from Jon Bernthal's Punisher and potentially other Netflix alumni.

At Mexico's LaConve convention, Jones addressed past criticisms while advocating for another opportunity to develop the character: "There's willingness from fans to see that happen... I'm very aware of the critiques. My response is like, give me a chance. I want to prove people wrong."

MCU character poll options
Who should be the MCU's new anchor character following the Infinity Saga?

As Marvel Studios continues expanding its street-level heroes roster, the door remains open for Iron Fist's return—potentially with fresh creative direction that could address previous fan concerns while honoring the character's rich comic history.
