Kingdom Come II Outpaces Predecessor, Selling 2 Million in Two Weeks

Feb 24,2025 Author: Oliver

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's phenomenal success continues unabated, surpassing 2 million copies sold in under two weeks.

Warhorse Studios, the developer, announced this milestone on Twitter, celebrating the sequel's achievement as a resounding triumph, echoing their earlier celebration of reaching 1 million sales just one day after launch.

This remarkable feat underscores the immense popularity of Warhorse Studios' medieval RPG sequel, released on February 4th for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Last week, Embracer Group, Warhorse Studios' parent company, highlighted the game's exceptional performance on Steam, boasting over 250,000 peak concurrent players. This significantly eclipses the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance's peak of 96,069 concurrent players seven years prior.

While the actual peak concurrent player count is undoubtedly higher, encompassing both PC and console players, precise figures remain unavailable due to the lack of public data from Sony and Microsoft.

Embracer, owning Warhorse Studios through its subsidiary Plaion, described Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's launch as a resounding success across all metrics – player reception, critical acclaim, and sales performance.

Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors attributed this success to the dedication of Warhorse Studios and publisher Deep Silver, expressing confidence in the game's continued strong performance and revenue generation over the next few years. He highlighted the game's exceptional quality, immersive gameplay, and broad appeal. A robust roadmap, including updates and new content over the next year, will ensure continued engagement with the player community.

Wingefors expressed immense pride in the teams involved, emphasizing that the game's success significantly exceeded initial expectations.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's post-launch roadmap includes three expansions slated for 2025. Spring will bring free updates featuring a barbershop with enhanced customization, Hardcore Mode, and horse racing. Summer will introduce the first paid DLC, "Brushes with Death," following protagonist Henry as he assists a mysterious artist with a troubled past. Autumn will see the release of "Legacy of the Forge," delving into Henry's past through his adoptive father Martin's history. Finally, winter brings "Mysteria Ecclesia," where Henry undertakes a clandestine mission within the Sedlec Monastery.
