Lies of P director Ji-Won Choi recently treated fans to a celebratory message, a blend of gratitude and exciting hints about the game's future. The message serves as both a thank you to the community and a sneak peek at upcoming DLC and a sequel for the steampunk Pinocchio-inspired Soulslike.
Lies of P DLC: Concept Art and Soundtrack Revealed
New Adventures Await Pinocchio
A year after Lies of P's captivating debut, developer NEOWIZ shared Choi's heartfelt letter, revealing details about the upcoming DLC. Choi expressed deep appreciation for the game's reception, highlighting the team's dedication amidst the challenges of development, fueled by fan support. He promised the DLC will expand upon the original game's strengths while addressing previous shortcomings.
"Our goal for the Lies of P DLC and sequel is to refine our successes and improve where we can," Choi explained, emphasizing the importance of focusing on fundamentals. He also expressed gratitude to his team at NOUGH and ROUND8 Studio.
The most intriguing reveal came at the letter's conclusion. Choi unveiled concept art depicting P in a snowy location, gazing towards a lighthouse—a promising glimpse of the new story. The image suggests a challenging, dangerous setting, true to the game's spirit.
Beyond the art, Choi shared a musical snippet from the DLC's soundtrack. While labeled "new," the track, "Lisrim," was originally composed by onoken in 2022. NEOWIZ owns the rights to both versions, and the music video, featuring a character with a clockwork weapon, aligns perfectly with the Lies of P aesthetic.
DLC Release Date and Beyond
While a precise release date remains unannounced, NEOWIZ's Q1 2024 earnings report indicates a launch sometime in the second half of 2024, alongside other titles:
⚫︎ The Legend of Heroes: Gagharv Trilogy
⚫︎ Cats & Soup: Malang Town
⚫︎ Cats & Soup: Magic Recipe
⚫︎ Project IG
Last November, an eight-minute video showcased early concept art, revealing environments such as an industrial facility and a wrecked ship.
While fans await further updates, Choi assures them that the DLC is only the beginning, with a full sequel also in development. The anticipation is palpable, and the promise of more Lies of P is sure to delight players.
