The renowned French studio Don't Nod, creators of the acclaimed Life is Strange series, have unveiled the first chapter of their latest narrative-driven adventure. Players can now immerse themselves in "Tape 1," with "Tape 2" set to be available at no additional cost to all purchasers on April 15.
First announced in 2023, this game weaves a compelling tale of a tight-knit group of friends who were mysteriously separated during the summer of 1995. Fast forward 27 years, and the specters of that fateful summer resurface, bringing with them unforeseen and chilling repercussions.
Inspired by classics like It, Yellowjackets, and I Know What You Did Last Summer, the game seamlessly intertwines elements of nostalgia with the intensity of a psychological thriller. The developers have decided to release the game in two distinct segments: "Bloom" and "Rage." As of today, February 18, only the first installment, "Bloom," is accessible to players.
Anticipation is building for the second part, dubbed "The Tape," which is scheduled for release on April 15. Originally planned for a March launch, the date was postponed to guarantee a more refined and immersive experience for players.
With the review embargo now lifted, OpenCritic has reported an impressive average critic score of 74/100, signaling a strong debut for this enthralling mystery.
