Street Fighter 6 enthusiasts are thrilled as they dive back into Capcom's acclaimed fighting game to test out the new fighter, Mai Shiranui from the Fatal Fury series. By December 31, 2024, the game had impressively sold 4.4 million copies. While fans have occasionally felt that the game could offer more content, the recent addition of Mai Shiranui as the third fighter of the second season has significantly boosted the game's popularity. On the day of her release, the peak concurrent players on Steam soared to over 63,000, marking the highest peak since May 2024, compared to the usual 24,000 to 27,000.
Mai Shiranui is exclusively available to Battle Pass holders. Players can deepen their connection with Mai in World Tour, learning her unique moves and then putting them to the test in Battle Hub. Additionally, a second costume inspired by her iconic look from Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves has been added, enhancing her appeal.
The excitement doesn't stop there; Battle Hub is currently hosting a special guest, Professor Woshige, a renowned figure and developer in the fighting game community. Players can experience his presence until March 10. Alongside these additions, the game has introduced new ranks and rewards in the Master League, further enriching the competitive landscape.
Capcom has released a captivating trailer showcasing Mai Shiranui's impressive techniques, further fueling the anticipation and engagement among the Street Fighter 6 community.
