At today's Nintendo Direct, Nintendo has officially unveiled the long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2, set to launch on June 5, 2025. The excitement around this next-generation console is palpable, and fans won't have to wait much longer to get their hands on it.
The Nintendo Switch 2 will be available at a retail price of $449.99. For those looking for a complete package, a special bundle is on offer, which includes the highly anticipated Mario Kart World for just $499.99. If you're interested in purchasing Mario Kart World separately, be prepared for a recommended retail price of $79.99, reflecting its status as a premium title in Nintendo's lineup.
It's worth noting that Nintendo has traditionally been cautious about pricing, with the original Switch seeing only one $70 game release, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The recently announced Donkey Kong Bananza will also carry a $70 price tag, indicating a shift in Nintendo's pricing strategy for its flagship titles on the new console.
For those who missed the event, you can catch up on everything announced at the Nintendo Direct today right here. The announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 has sparked a variety of reactions regarding its pricing, with opinions ranging from "too expensive" to "about right."
