Marvel Rivals Season 1: A Double-Sized Debut
Get ready for a massive start to Marvel Rivals! Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, boasts double the content of a typical season. This expanded offering is a direct result of the developers' decision to introduce the Fantastic Four as a group, rather than individually.
This supersized season includes a wealth of new content:
- Three New Maps: Explore iconic New York City locations – the Sanctum Sanctorum (launching with Season 1 and featuring the new Doom Match mode), Midtown (for Convoy missions), and Central Park (details to be revealed later).
- The Fantastic Four Arrive: Mister Fantastic (Duelist) and Invisible Woman (Strategist) debut in Season 1, with The Thing and Human Torch joining the roster in a mid-season update approximately six to seven weeks later.
The developers' decision to launch the Fantastic Four together resulted in a season lasting approximately six months, double the length of a standard season. While this initial season is significantly larger, the developers haven't commented on how this will affect future seasons' content release cadence. It's currently anticipated that future seasons will follow a more traditional two-hero/villain per season pattern.
While the absence of Blade in Season 1 disappointed some fans, the sheer volume of new content and the potential for future additions keeps the excitement high. The future of Marvel Rivals is looking bright!
