The excitement surrounding the upcoming live-action Legend of Zelda movie continues to grow, with fans eagerly speculating on casting choices and character appearances. One of the most intriguing questions is who will portray the quirky character Tingle. Takaya Imamura, the creator of Tingle, has recently shared his ideal casting choice for this unique role.

Don’t Worry; It’s Not Jason Momoa Nor Jack Black
While fans ponder who will take up the Master Sword and what Princess Zelda's attire might look like, another pressing question is whether the balloon-loving Tingle will make an appearance. In an interview with VGC, Imamura revealed his dream casting for Tingle: "Masi Oka," he stated. "You know the TV series Heroes? The Japanese character who goes 'yatta!', I’d like him to do it."
Masi Oka gained fame for his role as Hiro Nakamura in Heroes and its sequel, Heroes Reborn. His versatility shines through in various projects, from action-packed films like Bullet Train and The Meg to the critically acclaimed Hawaii Five-O reboot. Oka's comedic timing and boundless energy align perfectly with Tingle's character, and his iconic "yatta!" pose in Heroes mirrors Tingle's distinctive poses in the game's artwork.

Whether director Wes Ball will heed Imamura's suggestion and include Tingle in the film is still up in the air. However, Ball's vision for the movie as a "live-action Miyazaki" film hints at a whimsical approach that could suit Tingle's eccentric balloon-selling persona. This leaves room for optimism about Tingle's inclusion.

The Legend of Zelda live-action movie was announced in November 2023, with Wes Ball directing and Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad producing. In March 2024, Ball expressed his commitment to the project, stating, "I want to fulfill people’s greatest desires. I know it’s important, this [Zelda] franchise, to people and I want it to be a serious movie."
