Path of Exile 2's Hidden Golden Idols: A Guide to Act 3's Secret Riches
Path of Exile 2 boasts numerous quests, some less obvious than others. Act 3 introduces a unique collectible: Golden Idols. These items, though labeled "Quest Items," don't behave like typical quest items; finding them doesn't update your quest log. Unlike most quest items, which are given to NPCs or deposited in specific locations, these idols have a different purpose. You can sell them for a substantial amount of gold—and there are five to find!
Locating the Golden Idols in Path of Exile 2
After completing the initial Act 3 quests and exploring the ruins beneath the Ziggurat Encampment, you'll be transported to the past via a portal, arriving in Utzaal (known as The Drowned City in the present). This is the Vaal city at its zenith. Don't get too sidetracked by the breathtaking visuals; your treasure hunt awaits!
Scattered throughout Utzaal and the connected area Aggorat, you'll discover the Golden Idols. Three are located within Utzaal itself, and the remaining two are in Aggorat. They're usually found on the ground or on pedestals in side rooms, not dropped by enemies.

Cashing In Your Golden Idols
Once you've gathered a Golden Idol, return to the Ziggurat Encampment and sell it to Oswald, located in the north of the area. He's the only vendor who will buy them. The payout for each is:
- Golden Idol: 500 Gold
- Grand Idol: 1000 Gold
- Glorious Idol: 1500 Gold
- Elegant Idol: 1000 Gold
- Exceptional Idol: 1500 Gold
Finding all five idols nets you a tidy 6000 gold. Since they're valuable but take up inventory space, it's best to sell them immediately after discovery to free up room for other loot.
