Metal Gear's legendary voice actor, David Hayter, known for voicing Solid Snake and Big Boss, shared a New Year's message on his Bluesky account, highlighting that 2025 marks the Year of the Snake. With the anticipation building for a new entry in the series, it seems 2025 could truly be the year of the Snake. Hayter is also set to return as Solid Snake in the eagerly awaited remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
The coincidence of 2025 being the Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac, and the planned release year for the new game, has not gone unnoticed by Konami. They celebrated this with a captivating video on their official YouTube channel, featuring three Taiko drummers and a calligraphy artist elegantly writing the kanji for "snake." The video wraps up with "SNAKE YEAR" in bold letters, celebrating both the zodiac and Solid Snake's big year.

Since its announcement in May 2024, followed by a trailer and demo at the Tokyo Game Show, updates on Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater have been scarce. However, in a recent interview with 4Gamer, producer Noriaki Okamura shared that one of their primary goals for 2025 is to ensure the game is polished to the highest standards.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is slated for release in 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This remake of the 2004 classic, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, promises next-generation enhancements, including the integration of Phantom Pain mechanics, new voice recordings, and additional lines from the original cast.
