Microsoft has confirmed its plans for a packed June event, announcing the Xbox Games Showcase 2025 and a dedicated The Outer Worlds 2 Direct. As is tradition, Microsoft will host its annual June showcase to unveil the latest in Xbox gaming, and 2025 will be no exception. The Xbox Games Showcase 2025 is scheduled to be livestreamed on Sunday, June 8, at 10am Pacific Time, 1pm Eastern Time, and 6pm UK Time.
The showcase promises an exciting look at upcoming titles from Microsoft’s first-party studios, alongside a selection of impressive new games from third-party partners around the world. With a rich lineup of games in development, fans can anticipate updates on eagerly awaited projects such as the new Fable (now delayed to 2026), the Perfect Dark reboot, inXile’s Clockwork Revolution, Ninja Gaiden 4, Contraband from the Just Cause developers, Rare's Everwild, The Coalition's Gears of War: E-Day, Hideo Kojima’s OD, and Undead Labs' State of Decay 3. Additionally, Double Fine, known for Psychonauts, is working on a new title that may be revealed.
On the Activision Blizzard front, expect announcements about the upcoming Call of Duty game and various releases from Blizzard. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, set to launch in July, might also feature prominently. From Bethesda, there's anticipation for updates on Starfield, particularly regarding its PlayStation 5 release date, and possibly a glimpse of The Elder Scrolls 6.
There’s also the potential for Microsoft to unveil new Xbox hardware. While the next-gen Xbox console and an Xbox handheld are rumored for 2027, Microsoft might use the showcase to discuss Xbox-branded handhelds from third-party companies.
Following the Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft will present The Outer Worlds 2 Direct, spotlighting the sequel to the acclaimed first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment. Fresh off the release of Avowed, Obsidian will offer new gameplay, detailed insights, and developer commentary. The Outer Worlds 2 is slated for a 2025 release, and fans can likely expect a concrete release date during the direct.
Both the Xbox Games Showcase and The Outer Worlds 2 Direct will be available exclusively online, without a physical theatre event for fans and media. Microsoft assures viewers worldwide that the livestream will provide comprehensive coverage of all upcoming Xbox developments.
Here are the local time zones for the Xbox Games Showcase followed by The Outer Worlds 2 Direct:
