Celebrating Monster Hunter's 20th Anniversary: A Collaboration with Digimon
Digimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Anniversary Edition: Pre-orders Open, Global Release Uncertain
To mark two decades of Monster Hunter, Capcom's acclaimed action-RPG franchise has teamed up with Digimon to release the "Digimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Anniversary Edition" V-Pet. This special edition features designs based on the iconic Rathalos and Zinogre, priced at 7,700 Yen (approximately $53.2 USD) before additional fees.
These collectible devices boast a vibrant color LCD screen, advanced UV printing, and a convenient rechargeable battery. Users can enjoy customizable backgrounds and a unique "Cold Mode" that temporarily suspends monster growth, hunger, and strength. A backup system ensures game progress and monster data are securely saved.
Pre-orders are currently open through Bandai's official Japanese online store. However, these are Japan-only releases, so international buyers should anticipate extra shipping costs.
Currently, there's no confirmed global release date for the Digimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Anniversary Edition. Reports indicate the devices quickly sold out shortly after the announcement. The initial pre-order window closes at 11:00 p.m. JST (7:00 a.m. PT / 10:00 a.m. ET) today. Further pre-order opportunities will be announced via the official Digimon Web Twitter (X) account. The anticipated release date remains April 2025.
