Monster Hunter Now Expands With Exploration Bases on 2nd Anniversary
Jun 26,2026Author: Violet
Niantic's latest update for Monster Hunter Now introduces Exploration Bases, a new feature designed to foster community. Rolling out with Season 7, this PokéStop-like system is built on the cooperative spirit at the heart of Monster Hunter.
Instead of finding random items, hunters can now collaborate to upgrade local bases by submitting exploration emblems and reports. The more players contribute, the stronger the base becomes, unlocking benefits for all participants.
How Exploration Bases Function in Monster Hunter Now
These bases operate on a three-week cycle called a Wave. Upon completing a Wave, hunters earn rewards such as an Item Box Expansion +500 and up to 2,000 base reputation. Progress is also tracked on leaderboards.
Exploration Bases focus less on individual combat strength and more on collective effort. This allows newer players or those without maxed-out gear to contribute meaningfully. According to the developers, the feature aims to expand the hunter's experience beyond just battling monsters.
The inaugural Wave begins on September 18, 2025, and concludes on October 13, 2025. The featured outbreak monster is the 8-star Riftborne Deviljho. Shortly after, on September 22, Riftborne Deviljho will be permanently added to the game's roster.
Monster Hunter Now Celebrates Its Second Anniversary
The game's 2nd Anniversary event runs from September 14 to September 28, 2025. Participate to earn special 2nd Anniversary Exchange Tokens by hunting monsters, slaying or repelling elder dragons, and completing event quests. Check out a preview of the anniversary celebrations in the video below.
Exchange your tokens at the Event Exchange Hub for rewards like an Item Box Expansion and Wyvern Gem Shards. The anniversary also brings exclusive outfits, special gifts, and limited-time campaigns.
Furthermore, Season 7 introduces more riftborne variants beyond Deviljho, including Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian. Download Monster Hunter Now from the Google Play Store to join the hunt.
