Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Launches October 28 (PS Plus Early Access), October 31 for All

Capcom's October 23 showcase revealed the open beta launch date: October 28 for PlayStation Plus subscribers on PS5, and October 31 for everyone else on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Cross-play functionality will be fully enabled during the beta period. The beta runs until November 3.

To participate, download the beta client from your platform's digital store. Pre-downloads begin October 27 (PS Plus) and October 30 (all others). Ensure you have at least 18GB of free space.

What Awaits in the Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta?

The open beta offers character creation (with progress carrying over to the full game), a story trial (including a tutorial and Chatacabra fight), and a challenging Doshaguma hunt (supporting multiplayer or NPC hunters).

Beta participants receive exclusive in-game rewards (a Palico pendant, Seikret, Mega Potions, and more) redeemable as DLC upon the full game's release on February 28, 2025.

New Trailer Reveals the "Black Flame" and Oilwell Basin

The "Black Flame" trailer introduces the Oilwell Basin, a volatile environment with erupting oil wells, and new monsters like the Ajarakan and Rompopolo. The mysterious apex predator, the Black Flame, a giant squid-like creature, also makes its terrifying debut.

The trailer hints at the importance of the Azuz people, skilled forgers residing near the Everforge, in the game's unfolding narrative.
