To start your fishing journey in Monster Hunter Wilds, you'll need to meet Kanya at the Forest Base Camp in the Scarlet Forest, accessible from Chapter 1. You'll find her fishing by a pond at the camp. After a conversation with her, Kanya will equip you with a fishing rod and the Common Wood Minnow lure, initiating the ‘Fishing: Life, in Microcosm’ sidequest. This quest is the first in a series that will gradually unlock various bait lures, essential for catching the game's rarest fish.
