Capcom recently unveiled an exciting showcase for Monster Hunter Wilds, detailing the upcoming Title Update 1 and much more. Set to launch on April 4, 2025, this free update promises to enhance the game with new features and content for all players. Alongside the update, a variety of both free and paid DLCs will be available, introducing fresh armor and cosmetic options, as well as new monsters to challenge. The anticipation builds as we look forward to what's next for Monster Hunter Wilds. What aspect of this update excites you the most? Share your thoughts below!
A New Hub For Hunters
The showcase kicked off with a glimpse into the new endgame hub, aptly named the Grand Hub. This vibrant space offers hunters a plethora of activities to enjoy between quests. From feasting together and arm wrestling to listening to the Diva's nightly performances, there's no shortage of entertainment. Additionally, the Barrel Bowling mini-game adds a fun twist, where players can earn vouchers through various in-game activities, leading to more rewards. To unlock the Grand Hub, reach Hunter Rank 16 and speak to Tetsuzan in Suja, the Peaks of Accord.
Mizutsune Arrives
A highlight of Title Update 1 is the introduction of the graceful yet deadly Mizutsune. This monster boasts swift tail strikes and powerful water jets that can challenge even the most seasoned hunters. To encounter Mizutsune, you'll need to reach Hunter Rank 21 or above and visit the Scarlet Forest to speak with Kanya for the quest. Defeating Mizutsune will reward you with materials for crafting new gear.
Additional Hunts on the Way
Prepare for the arrival of Arch-tempered Rey Dau through a new Event Quest. This fight is a step above typical Tempered encounters, promising a tough challenge for those at Hunter Rank 50 or above. Successful hunters can look forward to new armor sets. Additionally, the opportunity to re-fight Zoh Shia after reaching HR 50 opens up, allowing you to craft exclusive armor from this formidable foe.
Arena Quests
Speedrunners will have their mettle tested with the introduction of Arena Quests. These quests offer both Challenge and Free Challenge options, where hunters can vie for the fastest completion times. Participation and achievement in these quests will earn you pendants, accessible through the counter at the new Grand Hub.
Change Alma's Outfit
Your trusty handler, Alma, now has the option to change her appearance. Access the new appearance menu in camp to customize Alma's attire, with one outfit available for free. Completing a specific side mission will also unlock the option to change Alma's glasses, adding a personal touch to your hunting companion.
More DLC is on the Way
Title Update 1 will be accompanied by a range of new DLC, including both free and paid options. Classic gestures from previous Monster Hunter games will be freely available, while the Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 offers additional customization for those who've purchased the Cosmetic DLC Pass or the Premium Deluxe Edition. Expect new stickers and further customization options for Alma.
More Event Quests and Seasonal Events
The excitement continues with new Event Quests and Seasonal Events. These events will bring thematic changes to the Grand Hub, including alterations in available meals and limited-time equipment, gestures, and decorations. The first Seasonal Event, Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, starts on April 23, featuring pink cherry blossoms and new decor. Capcom has also confirmed the return of most previous events and Event Quests.
The Roadmap Ahead
Here’s a look at the rollout plan for Title Update 1 and related content. U.S. players will see Title Update 1 on April 3, followed by the Blossomdance event on April 22. The challenging Arch-tempered Rey Dau arrives on April 29, and by the end of May, additional features and a Capcom collaboration will be introduced.
Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2
The showcase concluded with a sneak peek at Title Update 2, slated for this summer. While a specific date remains under wraps, the teaser suggests the return of the much-anticipated Lagiacrus, the underwater leviathan, ready to wreak havoc on the surface.
