Netflix Cancels Electric State Prequel Game: Kid Cosmo

Netflix is set to enhance its gaming catalog with the launch of a movie tie-in game for the upcoming sci-fi adventure, "The Electric State." Titled "The Electric State: Kid Cosmo," this puzzle game will feature a retro-futuristic twist and is slated for release on March 18th, just four days after the film's debut on Netflix.

Directed by the acclaimed Russo brothers, the film stars Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt and is set to premiere on March 14th. It promises an epic post-apocalyptic road trip across an alternate ’90s America, filled with massive robots.

It's Not Going to be a Simple Adaptation of the Movie

"The Electric State: Kid Cosmo" isn't just a straightforward adaptation; it's a prequel that delves into the childhood of two central characters, Chris and Michelle. Developed by BUCK Games in collaboration with AGBO, this game offers a unique game-within-a-game experience.

BUCK Games, known for the popular roguelite puzzle game "Let’s! Revolution!" on Steam, brings their expertise to ensure engaging gameplay. "Kid Cosmo" will immerse players in puzzle adventures reminiscent of the WarioWare series but with an ’80s flair. Set in Wichita, Kansas, in 1985, the game spans five years, providing a deeper understanding of Chris and Michelle's backstory before the movie's events.

Players will collect modules, repair Kid Cosmo’s ship, and solve puzzles that reveal the mysteries of this intriguing world. Get a sneak peek of "The Electric State: Kid Cosmo" in the trailer below:

The Electric State: Kid Cosmo Follows Netflix’s Trend of Spin-Offs

This release continues Netflix's trend of expanding its gaming offerings with interactive spin-offs. From "Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales" and "Too Hot to Handle Series" to "Money Heist: Ultimate Choice" and "Squid Game: Unleashed," Netflix's gaming roster is continually growing.

If you're a Netflix subscriber, you can explore their gaming catalog on the Google Play Store. And don't miss our upcoming coverage on the exciting new game, "Hello Kitty My Dream Store," where you can merge with Sanrio characters.
