A Seaside Village Showdown

Netflix's Witcher Animated Movie Comes February

Netflix Tudum, the official news site, announced The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep, debuting February 11, 2025. Based on Andrzej Sapkowski's short story, "A Little Sacrifice," from Sword of Destiny, this film plunges into a coastal village embroiled in a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. A kingdom from the Continent hires Geralt to resolve the issue, leading to a battle unlike any he's faced before—trading typical monsters for the aquatic menace of merfolk.

Dogue Cockle returns as Geralt's voice, alongside Joey Batey as Jaskier and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer. Christina Wren (Will Trent) joins the cast as the new character, Essi Daven. Andrzej Sapkowski acts as a creative consultant, with Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin (writers for the live-action series) penning the script. Kang Hei Chul, storyboard artist for *The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf*, directs.

A Season 1 Interlude

The film is set between episodes 5 and 6 of The Witcher's first season. Following Geralt and Yennefer's meeting in Rinde after the Djinn incident, Geralt undertakes a new contract near the coast. The proximity to Rinde suggests a location within Redania or Temeria. The short story's setting, Bremervoord City in Temeria, under Duke Agloval's rule, might also play a significant role, though the film's adherence to the source material remains to be seen.
