Nintendo has officially responded to the buzz surrounding a supposed 3D-printed mockup of the Nintendo Switch 2 by the American hardware brand, Genki. Dive in to discover what Nintendo had to say about this intriguing development!
Nintendo Clarifies: Mockup Is Unofficial

In response to swirling rumors about the Nintendo Switch 2 at CES 2025, Nintendo has made it clear to CNET Japan and the Japanese newspaper Sankei that "these images and videos are not official." They further clarified that the gaming hardware Genki presented as the Switch 2 was not provided by Nintendo and is therefore unofficial.
At CES 2025, Genki, known for their electronics and video game console accessories, turned heads by showcasing what they claimed to be a 3D-printed mockup of the much-anticipated next-generation console, the Nintendo Switch 2. They went as far as telling journalists and attendees that they possessed a "real" Switch 2 and even hinted at a release date.

Genki, an American brand renowned for its range of accessories like controllers, portable SSDs, and chargers, has a dedicated section on their website for Nintendo Switch 2 accessories. This section features a highly detailed animated mock-up of the console, adding fuel to the speculation fire.
However, Nintendo has remained tight-lipped about the upcoming console, promising only that more news will be released soon. The only detail Nintendo has confirmed about the Switch 2 is its backward compatibility with the original Switch and its games. Given the mounting speculation, Nintendo might be compelled to make an official announcement sooner rather than later.
