The long-anticipated details of the Nintendo Switch 2 have finally been revealed, and they're more impressive than many might have expected. The new console supports up to 120fps and 4K resolution when docked, marking a significant leap in performance.
During the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, several exciting features were showcased. The new system boasts a larger 7.9-inch screen, maintaining the same thickness of 13.9mm as its predecessor but with double the pixels. In handheld mode, it supports a 1080p display at up to 120fps, and features an LCD screen with HDR capabilities. When docked, it can handle up to 4K resolution and HDR, promising a visually stunning gaming experience.
The Joy-Con 2 controllers have been upgraded with magnetic connectivity and a release button for easy detachment. The SL and SR buttons are larger, enhancing the comfort and ease of horizontal play. The left and right sticks are also bigger, and a new feature was officially unveiled: mouse control support within the Joy-Con controllers.
The handheld mode of the Nintendo Switch 2 includes a built-in microphone with noise-canceling technology and 3D audio support for compatible games. It also features a sturdier, adjustable stand that can be set to various heights. A top USB port allows for external camera connectivity and charging the system in tabletop mode.
Additionally, the Nintendo Switch 2 comes equipped with 256GB of internal storage, offering ample space for your gaming library.
